iPhone 15 Rumours: Colors

Significant design updates for Apple's iPhone 15 have already been exposed, yet the company managed to keep one surprise hidden. Until now...

Renowned Apple insider, ShrimpApplePro, has confirmed a leak from the Chinese social media platform Weibo, often a source of Apple-related leaks, announcing that the iPhone 15 will be available in three novel colors: green, light yellow, and pink. Here's the complete color assortment:

  • Midnight
  • Starlight
  • Green
  • Light Yellow
  • Pink
  • Product (RED)

The new colors are highlighted in italics, and it's important to emphasize that light yellow is not the same as the vivid yellow shade found on the iPhone 14 series. If this leak is accurate, it suggests that Apple is discontinuing the blue, purple, and deeper yellow finishes this year.

While individual opinions on Apple's color selection will be subjective, the real astonishment lies in the degree of the changes. It's common for Apple to alter one or two colors annually, but changing three is unprecedented. The decisions are particularly striking considering a market report in March revealed that blue and purple were the favored color choices among iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus buyers.

Conversely, pink has long been the most sought-after iPhone color, and whispers of a bubblegum pink version first surfaced in March, although that report also mentioned the introduction of a new brighter blue hue. Apple has demonstrated its readiness to cater to customer preferences this year, as evidenced by the release of a 15-inch MacBook Air.

The color options for the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models have also spurred a flurry of conjecture, with contrasting reports suggesting that Apple is set to unveil a standout color either in a deep red or dark blue shade.
